Constructa Kids - Projects

We are now in our second year of running ConstructaKids classes and children have already completed Jacob’s Ladder toys, paddle steamers, tic-tac-toe games, space rockets and climbing bears! We are always open to ideas and look to the children in the class to help generate the ideas, therefore always ensuring they’re fully engaged with the project they are working on.

By building a variety of fun projects, children learn a wide range of valuable carpentry and construction skills such as measuring, fractions, sawing, drilling, sanding, shaping, assembly, and painting. Hand in hand with the practical skills goes a wide variety of other concepts such as abstract reasoning, mathematics, problem solving, fine motor skills, respect for tools, and (hopefully) patience!

Projects will vary depending on the age and experience level of the child, but will be typically be based on a theme and could range from puppets, animals, vehicles, and go-carts, to making toys and mazes and buildings.

In a half term unit you could expect your child to make 1 main project with a few potential smaller projects to help them develop the necessary tool skills.
